Kenilworth Station links to the mainline rail network
Kenilworth station finally reopened last year, reconnecting Kenilworth to Leamington Spa and Coventry by passenger train. An hourly service now operates between Coventry and Leamington Spa, operated by West Midlands Trains, and trains run each way on Mondays to Saturdays. There is no Sunday service.
The original Kenilworth station opened in 1844 before being rebuilt in 1884 and then closed in 1965 as part of the Beeching cuts. Much of the remaining line was singled during 1970s, although some double track was retained through Kenilworth to form a passing loop a short distance north of the station. The cut-off line to Berkswell was closed in 1969 and now forms the Greenway for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riding.
